Anyone know what this plant is? I thought maybe Phlox? I have no idea!
Here is a close-up.
I hope someone can identify it! TIA!
Happy Gardening,
Tessa
UPDATE!
I think I figured it out. I did a image search online for ‘blue, clumping, ground covers for spring’. I didn’t have to click on too many images to find it, thankfully! It’s Aubrieta deltoidea. Then I did a search for more images and found this one from Wikipedia.
I think we have a winner! Funny thing too- I started some seeds for Aubrieta (or Rock Cress), a different variety with mixed colors...Duh! No wonder it looked familiar ;)
Happy Gardening!
Tessa

Beats me - looks kind of like a viola but the leaf is wrong. Same with a Campanula. Is it a shrub or how big is it? Sorry! It's pretty though.
Dang Tessa, I can't open the photo. I are smart.
RainGardener- is is a spreading, low growing mass. There is a couple big clumps of it and it grows/spreads slowly.
Grace- Do you mean you can't click on the photo? I disabled that, but I can change it if you'd like. Of course, all my photos are mostly stored on Picasa.
I don't know either, but it's really pretty. Just covered in blooms isn't it! I don't think it's phlox, but it does look familiar.
I love it what ever it is. It does remind one of viola's. I am sure someone will know what it is.
hmm... .forget me nots?
Love your blog - and can't wait to see the next mystery flower.
Is anyone having problems seeing the 2 photos in this post?
Aubrieta, ah yes! It sure makes a beautiful (albeit brief) spring show. Sorry for being such a pain in the arse.
Thanks everyone for your comments- After living in this house for 7 years I finally got down to it and looked for what this plant is! How simple! Every year we wonder, and every year I could have googled it! Well, now we know- and so do you :)
Grace- you could never be a pain in the arse! I appreciate you letting me know of any problems you may be having with seeing or reading my blog :)
It's a nice mystery plant! Have a wonderful day!
Hi Tessa, so glad you got an ID. This is a plant I have never grown, although it is quite tempting. Seeds may have to be tried next season. I will be interested to see how yours do from seed. BTW, those green tulips have held up very well with the rain and even frost we had recently. They return faithfully each year, but sometimes need divided to fill in bare spots in the knot garden quads.

Lovely, and great closeups.
Wonderful to be seeing spring color again.
