THE WONDER OF APRIL
If asked to describe her, I guess I would say
Less restless that March, less placid than May____
With robins appearing again on the sill
And yellow forsythia high on the hill.
If asked to describe her, I guess I would tell
Of bright purple crocuses down by the dell,
Of blossoms beginning to bloom on the trees
And heavenly fragrance adrift on the breeze;
Of lambs in the meadow and foals in the glen---
A world, winter-weary. reviving again.
If asked to describe her, how could I impart
The wonder that April evokes in my heart?
