Er, a girl! Oh heck, I don’t know- but it sure is cute! Peetree should be quite proud (especially considering he doesn’t have a penis! Ha Ha :)
You can see his/her downy in this one, a little of the color too :) A little fuzzy butt- too cute!
The tiny nest can’t be to far away, but I have yet to see it. Peetree is around too and I hope he doesn’t get territorial with the baby and chase it off the feeder- so far so good, I see the baby eating on it. I would think that he’d be fine with his offspring, but you never know. It’s so much fun learning about these things!
Happy gardening,
Tessa

Hi Tessa~~ Hummingbirds are so gosh darn cute. Too bad they're so aggressive. Hopefully this little guy/gal will be spared. Cutie pie! Oh and congratulations.
It's so great to see someone who loves the birds as much as me...I have feeders and bath in my garden and actually have a family of birds which always nest in my porch roof..they are great and excellent at cleaning the guttering out on a yearly basis..(although i wish they could learn to put the rubbish in the bin..LOL)
I like the fuzzy butt too. Cute.
Wonderful pictures! I love these birds and get excited every time I see one - even though I've seen them so many, many times. The fuzzy bottom is adorable! -Jackie
How cute!! I've never seen a baby hummingbird. Is it really tiny still? I hope Peetree will be nice too.
I haven't seen a lot of hummers around this year .. could be me not looking at the right time .. but for god sake a bat ?? LOL
Great pictures Tessa !!
Too funny, Tessa! Whatta cute little PeeTree!

awww, how sweet is he/she?? Great pics too. Our hummingbirds are just now showing up ~ we are not lucky enough to live where they breed. Thankfully we are on the migration path so we see them as they head south.
It's lovely to see someone cherishing the birds as much as I do...I have a porch roof which has a yearly nest in it and I love to see the chicks first fly..they are great at cleaning my gutters out too...now I just have to teach the birds to put the rubbish in the bin!!
Soo cute! And you are so lucky to get to witness this new little one. I have been feeding the hummingbirds and my feeder empties quickly but I have yet to see one out there. Great pictures.
Those are great pictures! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Adorable baby! I find it funny the beak is almost as long as the body. Maybe Peetree will learn to trust you and come around often to pose...that would be cool! Glad your tomato vandals were caught but sad they picked most of the harvest! Darn kids!
